Stolin Gum Astringent is a liquid gum paint used to treat various gum problems, such as bleeding and spongy gums, gingivitis, Vincent's disease (trench mouth), and other gum diseases. The astringent is a combination of three drugs, namely tannic acid, zinc chloride, and cetrimide. Tannic acid has an astringent effect, which causes the shrinkage or constriction of body tissues, while zinc chloride and cetrimide act as antiseptic agents, preventing bacteria and fungi from growing in the mouth.
